Mole or Blemish Removal
Moles, birthmarks and port wine stain birthmarks, especially those on the face and neck, often leave patients feeling unhappy with their appearances. Moles are easily removed with a minor incision around the mole and, generally, one to two stitches. Birthmarks and port wine stains can also be safely and effectively treated. While birthmarks are simply abnormal skin lesions, port wine stains are caused by an overabundance of blood vessels under the skin; these stains increase in size with age. Not long ago, people with unsightly birthmarks could do little to make them less obvious. Make-up was used as a cover-up, but it was not permanent and needed daily application. Today, however, we can use laser surgery to treat such birthmarks, making the stains far less noticeable.
