Rhinoplasty
Dr. Hillstrom is uniquely qualified and has undergone extensive training in corrective nasal surgery (rhinoplasty), which can be performed for both cosmetic and functional reasons.
Through rhinoplasty, Dr. Hillstrom can decrease or increase the size of the nose, alter the size and shape of the tip and bridge, or change the shape of the nostrils. In addition, structural defects of the nose that cause breathing problems, either as a result of birth defects or injury, can be corrected through rhinoplasty.

Dr. Hillstrom typically advises that young patients wait until their nose is completely developed at around age 14 or 15 before performing rhinoplasty.

Revision Rhinoplasty Surgery
Many of Dr. Hillstrom's patients are referred to him by medical colleagues who are familiar with his expertise in revision rhinoplasty, which is performed to correct a previous nasal surgery which has resulted in an undesirable look, or breathing difficulty.  Dr. Hillstrom is highly experienced in performing revision rhinoplasty procedures at his Sarasota practice, and has corrected the noses of many patients throughout Florida's Westcoast.

It is important to wait at least six months to a year after your original nasal surgery before considering a revision rhinoplasty. In some cases, swelling in the nose can persist for beyond a few months and the final results may not be visible for up to a year. Once the swelling resolves, all abnormalities can be appreciated and a plan can then be made to resolve any concerns regarding your appearance or breathing.

If you are unhappy with a previous nose surgery, contact Hillstrom Facial Plastic Surgery for a revision rhinoplasty consultation with Dr. Hillstrom.
